Postby lamhit2 » Sat Oct 10, 2015 10:26 pm

Hello,

I am trying to install my old VPM7 to recompile an old project.
Compiling run fine, but when I run the app, it says: Property ALWAYSONTOPWORKAROUND is not found

My app still run, but some form does not show up when I open it.

Could anyone please help me with this?

Thanks,

Do you VPME 8.0 or newer installed on your computer?

Always on Top Turnaround was removed in version 8.0a

Hi,

No, I do not have VMPE8 installed.
I only have VPME7 and VFP7 installed.

My old compiled .exe file is running fine without problem on the same machine.
I am planning to do some changes in the app and have issue after compiling.

Thanks,
Lam

It's a bit hard to tell, but it looks like AlwaysOnTopWorkaround was a method of oApp object in 7a.

Sounds like your app was originally compiled in 7a, but you are using 7.

Check your classes and see if this method is present...

Some of the documentation is here: http://promatrix.com/index.php/documentation/documentation-downloads

Hi Bob,

I checked the S*FMAIN.MNX, in the Skip for section of Option of the File pad and see this: _SCREEN.oApp.AlwaysOnTopWorkaround()

But I do not see the AlwaysOnTopWorkaround method in the proapp class.

I re-installed my version of VPME 7.0a

The AlwaysOnTopWorkAround is there.

I've attached 2 screen shots. One of proApp for vpme7 and one for vpme 9.

Could you open the vpmApp (not proapp) and look there? Also, open the VSA and look in proapp from there.

Then you are not running VPME7.0a

Sorry, I know you are sure that you running VPME 7.0a, but VPM7.0a has that method.

It wasn't until 9.0 that you could actually look at the project and know for sure what version you are running.

Maybe you have installed and un-installed various versions. It doesn't matter what the help form says; that's just a form.

If you had installed 8.0 and then some how overwrote the about form with the 7.0 about form, then you would be still be running 8.0

I suggest you go to another computer that has never had VPME on it and install 7.0
