Importing accented characters into database

Postby stecenko » Sat Mar 10, 2018 11:24 am

Hi All,

I've created a simple web page for submissions of abstracts for a conference. Name, email, title, and abstract (500 words).

The form in the web page emails what the user enters to me. I save it as a txt file.

Then in VPME, I import into a database, from which I produce a web page announcing the presenters at the conference and later print the program using Indesign.

Works slick.

But, the conference is international and I am getting weird stuff in the email.
For example...
women’s is women's
Métis is Métis

Is there something I have to do when formatting the email to send the proper characters or when I import into VFP?
