How to print a report and pdf file on the back ?

Postby expresys » Fri Aug 01, 2014 2:05 am

Hi, Has someone been able to print on printers with the ability to print on both sides of the same page from VFP ?
I need to print a regular report on the front and a pdf file on the back with the same command in a bottom.

Thanks in advance for Your help,

Atte. Oscar

Do you mean like a credit card statement with your purchases on the front and a bunch of small print on the back?

Does your report ever go over one page? If so, do you print the pdf on the back of all subsequent pages?

Is the pdf more than one page?

Hi, Mr. Richard,
Yes like credit card payment the front side of the page is always the report that change depending of transaction but the back side is a pdf file that always will be the same small letter with terms and conditions and each transaction I print 8 pages and only a title change in the front side of the page but I have a routine that count 8 times for the report. The key is how to send the command to the printer to print in the back side of the page ?

Thanks Oscar

There's a Basic routine here...
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/230743
That sets a printer to duplex.

You can try to do the samething in VFP or you could use something like xFRX to produce a Word document of your report and then use Office Automation to print it using Word.

And here's some VFP code that might work...

I tried the code from mGagnon at tek-tips and for my Brother printer setting DUPLEX=2 prints a report in duplex.

There might be other settings required if you are printing landscape or you want to flip on short-side.
