Using a cubietruck as a testbench and server ...

Hi,

somehow really far away from vfp but somehow not. Use it as a web server, j2ee test bench, database server or network analysis tool.

In the past I spent a lot of time in setting up my test environment.
Some years ago I was playing around with a toshiba ac100 ( tegra 250 chip) and android, and ended up in setting it up with linux.

For a long time I was using VMs on my mac or some old hardware where installed linux server distros.
I have also a 64 Bit windows 7 box with a quad core.

Today I have a timecapsule and one of my old laptops is doing a fine job as a linux server ( database, web, proxy).

Last month I started with a cubiboard 3 ( cubitruck).

And all for below 100 euros.

Its a great box which can act as a client or server. Android 4.2 is pre installed, so u can use it as it is as a tablet testbench for your server apps, or if you install a server software (some euros) a complete server based on android.

There are also images for linux -linaro,........ But keep in mind: its a arm chip. But there are also intel boards.
And one thing I like most: I can carry it around. And if you are running it 24*7 it saves a lot of energy.

Have a nice weekend.
