Excel and MS SQL

Postby stecenko » Thu Dec 19, 2013 10:34 pm

Hi All,

A new adventure in the wonderful world of IT.

My client has some ancient Excel spreadsheets. They wrote a VFP data server that receives instructions and data from a macro in Excel and returns data from a VFP table. Wrote this, I believe, in the late 90s.

Now they've decided that it all must be re-done in SQL, which is just fine by me.

Has anyone written a macro in VBA in Excel that creates a a record in MS SQL from various cells on the spreadsheet?

I've found some stuff through google that seems to work, but everything seems to work until you the users get at it.

So any advice?

Yes. I'm going to take a closer look at MSInfoPath.

Thanks.
